I purchased a Honda Insight in silver
in January of 2001. This is a
gasoline/electric hybrid car containing incredible technology for a consumer level
product. Honda pulled out all the stops in creating a showpiece of engineering.
Oh by the way it's a great car and fun to drive and it gets
59.4 mpg.
Yes go read that again, it's my current lifetime mileage (at
52,100 miles). I'm
grinning from ear to ear.
It all started when I got a new job which requires me to drive about 65 miles a day
commuting with both highway and city driving required. My other car (a V8!) seemed
inappropriate for this job. I had read about the Insight but never actually seen
one. One day I was driving past a Honda dealer and not only saw the car but drove it
and bought it the same day. Needless to say I really like the car, it is quiet, cool
looking and practical for me. The hatchback is great for throwing in packages and
the 2 seats are one more than I need for work.
There are a number of web sites that explain everything you need to know about the
Insight. InsightCentral is one of the
best. It has a list of owners
sites that are all great. There is also a web news group were a lot of owners
frequent.
