The initial undocumented first flight occurred on 3/19/
2005 with an initial appraisal that "Hans" the pilot was suffering from a lead
bottom. The plane seemed a bit tail heavy. With some rearrangement
of the innards the first documented flight occurred on 4/16 2005 with Andy Kane
doing the take off honors and some fancy flying to get some of the following
setups. I flew for awhile and let Andy land it due to some gusty
cross-wind conditions that I'm not up to yet. The plane flew well although
all that wing area sure makes it fly like a kite in breezy conditions.
That's the real moon in the shot (not photoshopped!)
Hans goes after an Airbus! (Our field is 5 miles
from Dulles).
Not too nervous!
My thanks to Andy Kane, test pilot extraordinaire!
(That's his competition Yak).
